ABOUT THE ARTIST

Background

Desirée Delgado is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Madrid but raised in the beautiful lands of Extremadura, Spain. From a very young age, she demonstrated an aptitude for drawing and she was an apprentice in several artists' studios, where learned the fundamentals of drawing and the profound meaning of what the life of an artist is.

After her university studies, photography was her primary artistic medium for more than a decade, specialized in digital fantasy/sci-fi photomanipulation for posters, covers and advertising. During that time, she also created a strong community on social media through her YouTube channel about photography, and she did campaigns and collaborations with big technology companies (such as Sony, Olympus, Nikon, Adobe, Sigma, Xppen, Fujifilm, Xiaomi, among others).

When the COVID-19 break arrived, she decided to return to her roots in drawing, and study a master's degree in conceptual art for films and videogames, where discovered that she enjoyed the most creating environments, landscapes and creatures, especially in the phase before all the development of details: when everything is just an idea and pure expression. At the same time, he returned to traditional drawing techniques and gradually abandoned the digital medium.

That decision completely changed her life, and with the rise of AI images, she now focuses entirely on her artistic expression through watercolor, gouache, pencils, and other handmade techniques.
